MERN Testing Specialist Needed
Budget: ₹37,500 – ₹75,000 INR
I’m expanding our QA capacity for the next three months and need a tester who lives and breathes the MERN stack. Our product runs on a React front-end (already instrumented with Cypress) and a Node/Express RESTful API that currently has zero automated coverage. Your mission is to turn that blank slate into a robust, confidence-building test suite while tightening the existing front-end tests.
What you’ll be doing
• Designing and writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for the React UI with Cypress and, where appropriate, Jest.
• Building our entire server-side test framework from scratch in Jest (or a tool you recommend), covering routes, controllers, services, and MongoDB interactions.
• Pairing with developers during pull-requests to flag edge cases early and maintain high coverage.
• Logging reproducible bugs, suggesting fixes, and iterating quickly with the team in daily stand-ups.
Success looks like
• Consistent green pipelines in CI for both front-end and back-end repos.
• Clear coverage metrics that track against agreed targets.
• Readable, maintainable test code that the dev team can extend after your stint ends.
If you’ve shipped tests for complex MERN apps before, are comfortable owning the QA strategy, and can commit roughly 20–25 hours per week for three months, I’d love to hear how you’d approach our blank backend canvas and improve the current Cypress suite.
