MERN Full-Stack E-Commerce Build

I’m kicking off a brand-new e-commerce platform and need an experienced MERN full-stack developer to turn the concept into a production-ready web app. The stack is non-negotiable—MongoDB, Express, React, and Node—so you should already be comfortable architecting and deploying applications with this tooling.

Scope
The project starts from a blank repo. You’ll design the database schema, set up the server and API layer, and craft a fast, responsive React front-end. Core functionality must include:

• Shopping cart with real-time updates and a smooth checkout flow
• Secure user registration, login, and profile management
• Payment gateway integration (Stripe preferred, but I’m open if you can justify another provider)

Beyond those essentials, I value clean code, reusable components, and clear documentation that lets future contributors find their footing quickly.

Deliverables
1. A GitHub repository with well-structured commits
2. Working application deployed to a cloud host (Heroku, Render, or similar)
3. README covering setup, environment variables, and deployment steps
4. Post-launch support for minor bug fixes in the first month

Acceptance Criteria
• All core features function on both desktop and mobile
• Payments process successfully in test and live modes
• No major console errors or unhandled promise rejections
• Lighthouse performance score ≥ 85 on key pages
