MERN E-Commerce App Build
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I need a full-stack MERN web application that can serve as the foundation for a scalable e-commerce site. The core requirement is a robust shopping-cart flow that handles product selection, quantity updates, and persistence across sessions. React will drive the front-end experience, with Redux or Context for state where appropriate, while Node.js, Express, and MongoDB support secure APIs and data storage.
Key expectations
• Product catalogue pages and a product detail view tied to MongoDB documents
• Add-to-cart, update, and remove actions reflected instantly in the UI and stored server-side
• User authentication (email/password or OAuth) so carts are linked to accounts
• Clean component structure, reusable hooks, and clear folder architecture for future features such as payment gateways or user reviews
• RESTful endpoints, JWT-based auth, and environment-ready configuration files (.env, Docker, or similar)
• Responsive layout; I’m open to design direction—as long as checkout steps stay simple and distraction-free
Deliverables
1. Complete source code in a tidy Git repo with commit history
2. A concise README explaining setup, .env variables, and build commands (npm scripts)
3. Postman or Swagger collection that demonstrates each critical API route
4. Deployed demo link on Heroku, Vercel, or Render for quick testing
Acceptance criteria: adding items updates totals immediately, data remains after refresh or re-login, and all CRUD operations return the expected JSON schema with proper status codes.
If you already have proven patterns for MERN e-commerce, let’s leverage them to keep the timeline tight and the codebase clean.
