Project Overview
Seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented interviewer and writer to document the life story of an 86-year-old woman currently in short-term rehabilitation, then returning home. The project will begin with short, in-person interviews and evolve into a written memoir.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-person interviews in Covington, Louisiana (approximately 20–30 minutes per session, up to three times per week; shorter sessions as needed for health and comfort).
Record audio for each session and take concise written notes.
Capture occasional short video clips (with consent) for family archives; no editing required.
Transcribe interviews accurately within 48 hours.
Organize transcripts and identify key life themes.
Draft a 2–3-page outline and 1-page synopsis based on the collected material.
If approved, write the first draft of the memoir (approximately 20–30 pages).
Ideal Candidate
Background in journalism, creative writing, or oral history.
Experience interviewing older adults and strong listening skills.
Reliable, empathetic, and discreet.
Excellent transcription and writing ability.
Must live locally in or near Covington / Mandeville, Louisiana.
