Emotive Memoir Line Editing
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 CAD
I’m ready to move my memoir into its final shape and need a sharp line editor who can polish each sentence without diluting the raw, emotional energy that runs through the pages. The manuscript is already drafted; now I want every line to read smoothly while still sounding exactly like me.
Your main task is true line editing: tighten wording, refine phrasing, and remove any small stumbles in grammar or punctuation only where they break the flow. Above all, keep my voice intact and be sure the emotional tone stays consistent from the first paragraph to the last.
Because consistency in tone and style is my top priority, I’d like you to flag (and lightly correct) any shifts that pull the reader out of the story. If something feels off, explain why so I can decide whether to keep or revise it—I want this to feel collaborative, not prescriptive.
Deliverables:
• Edited manuscript returned in Word with Track Changes on, plus a clean copy
• A short editorial memo (1-2 pages) summarising recurring issues, tone notes, and any spots you think might need my further attention
