Part-Time Medical Care Coordinator
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
DESCRIPTION
Assist with scheduling and coordinating a wide variety of complex healthcare appointments, including physical therapy, procedures, and referrals
Ensure that appointments are coordinated with non-medical commitments and update electronic calendars to allow for a complete view of daily schedules
Provide medical advocacy help in getting the quickest possible appointments and second opinions whenever necessary
Provide clear, concise communication of medical messages and appointment reminders
Obtain authorizations from insurers and prescriptions from medical providers
Use Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Patient Portals for scheduling and research
Collect, record and track health insurance bills, co-pays, and payments
Follow and adhere to local, state, and federal confidentiality policies and procedures
Work will be at FiDi/Tribeca apartment
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be fully Covid-19 vaccinated
Excellent written, communication and organizational skills
Exemplary telephone manner and skills
At least 1-2 years experience scheduling or admin in a medical office, or at least 1-2 years of relevant medical administrative experience
Work experience with HIPPAA and privacy law requirements
Good computer skills including data entry, information searches and scanning/uploading (accuracy is essential)
Calm, respectful and helpful manner and positive attitude
Ability to be organized and to operate with purpose, urgency, and accuracy
Ability to build rapport with both providers and their admin staff
Discreet and trustworthy
