Medical Researcher – Autism Treatment Trip Planning (India Focus)

Project Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled freelance medical researcher to assist in planning a comprehensive, high-standard medical and therapeutic trip to India for our 6-year-old son, Xavier, who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay, and Pica.
The objective is to identify India’s most effective, progressive, and internationally recognized practitioners across multiple autism-related fields and build a clinically optimized and logistically feasible 10-day treatment itinerary that balances medical, therapeutic, and family needs.
Key Responsibilities
Identify top 3 specialists in each of 10 critical fields relevant to autism and global developmental delay, including:
Developmental Pediatrics
Occupational Therapy (Sensory Integration focus)
Speech and Language Therapy (AAC, Floortime, etc.)
ABA/Behavioral Therapy (Verbal Behavior, ESDM)
Functional Medicine/Biomedical Interventions
Ayurvedic or Integrative Medicine
Clinical Nutrition & Gut-Brain Axis Therapy
Neurology (Child Neurologists)
Psychology (Clinical Child Psychologists)
Alternative Therapies (e.g., Yoga, Music, Neurofeedback)
Provide a shortlist of recommended experts with detailed justifications, including:
Clinical background and qualifications
International or national reputation
Peer-reviewed research or publications
Patient success stories or outcome data
Treatment philosophies and methods used
Location & accessibility
Develop a realistic and family-friendly itinerary for August 2025, including:
Optimal clinic/city routing (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kerala, etc.)
Suggested durations per clinic
Key appointments to schedule in advance
Family accommodation and logistics guidance
Potential leisure/recreational autism-friendly options for the child
Ideal Candidate
Proven experience in medical research, clinical writing, or global health planning
Deep understanding of autism treatments, including both traditional and alternative approaches
Experience organizing international medical travel or VIP patient services is highly desirable
Able to evaluate complex clinical information and translate into practical recommendations
Self-directed, highly organized, and detail-oriented
Deliverables
Excel/Notion-style database of specialists by category with direct contact links
Summary report of selected clinicians with full justifications and references
Draft itinerary with maps, clinic locations, and daily schedule outline
Cost estimation per visit and travel window
Research file with links to published studies, clinic websites, patient feedback
