Large Animal Veterinary Procedure Support
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I need an experienced veterinary assistant who can step straight into medical-procedure support for horses, cattle and other farm animals. Day-to-day you will be preparing and sterilising instruments, safely restraining animals, setting up and monitoring IV lines, assisting with minor surgeries and emergency interventions in the field or clinic, and recording every step in our digital medical logs (e.g., Cornerstone or ezyVet).
You should be fully comfortable with large-animal handling techniques, anesthesia monitoring, wound management and post-op care. Competence with portable ultrasound, X-ray and basic laboratory work is a plus, as is any certification in large-animal nursing or animal science.
When you respond, walk me through one or two procedures you have directly assisted on—what your role was, what equipment you handled, and any complications you managed. Please also confirm your availability for early-morning or after-hours calls; foalings and emergency colics rarely happen on schedule.
Deliverables:
• Hands-on assistance during scheduled and emergency procedures
• Accurate treatment notes entered the same day
• All instruments cleaned, sterilised and restocked before you leave the site
