Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals by providing administrative and clinical assistance. This position involves patient interaction, medical record management, and assisting physicians with examinations and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Prepare patients for examinations by measuring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.).
Assist healthcare providers during medical procedures and examinations.
Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws and specimen collection.
Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
Conduct EKGs, wound dressing, and other routine medical procedures.
Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care.
Maintain a clean and sanitized medical environment.
Administrative Duties:
Greet and check in patients, ensuring accurate information is recorded.
Schedule appointments and manage patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Handle phone inquiries, insurance verifications, and medical billing assistance.
Process prescription refills and coordinate with pharmacies.
Assist in maintaining office inventory and ordering medical supplies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA) is preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred.
