Inpatient ICD-10 Coding Assistance
Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR
I need a detail-oriented medical coder to take a stack of inpatient operative reports and translate them into accurate ICD-10 codes. The work is strictly inpatient, so familiarity with sequencing rules, PCS procedure coding, and DRG implications is essential.
You will receive scanned operative reports in PDF format; your task is to review each note, assign the correct ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes, and return a concise coding summary for every encounter. Accuracy and adherence to official ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines are critical, as these records feed directly into billing and quality metrics.
A pharmacy background (Bachelor of Pharmacy or similar) would be a plus because many of the cases involve medication-related procedures and complications, but solid inpatient coding experience is the primary requirement.
Deliverables
• Coded spreadsheet (or 837-ready file) listing patient identifier, ICD-10-CM diagnoses, ICD-10-PCS procedures, and any relevant modifiers.
• Brief rationale notes for any complex code selections.
• Turnaround time: initial batch of 50 reports within five working days.
I will spot-audit the first few charts; once accuracy is confirmed, we can expand the volume or move to an ongoing arrangement. Let me know your experience with inpatient operative reports and ICD-10-PCS, plus your estimated time per chart.
