critical appraisal of topic
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I am looking for a professional researcher/writer who can conduct a critical appraisal of a healthcare-related topic, drawing on sources from academic journals.
The project will involve:
- Searching the literature with reference to the PICO acronym
- The literature search must use mainstream and appropriate databases (eg Medline, cochrane, embase, Google Scholar) using MeSH terms.
- Retrieved articles need to be evaluated for their relevance to the clinical question, their
internal validity, external generalisability as well as their levels of evidence
- Checklists need to be used assess the validity and strength of any conclusions, recommendation or guidelines. Eg. PRISMA for systemic reviews, STROBE for observational studies, CONSORT for randomised trials.
- The results from the selected and appraised articles are interpreted with regard to level of
evidence of the article, its internal and external validity and the similarity of the PICO of the
article to the current PICO question
I already have a number of articles from a literature search, though would like someone to repeat the search and confirm no relevant articles are missing. I also require assistance in critically appraising each article, particularly the statistics as I do not have a background in this.
The writer must be knowledgeable in the field of healthcare and should possess excellent research and analytical skills. The writer should also have an extensive background in using academic writing conventions.
