Trauma in causation of ankylosing spondylitis
Budget: $2,630 – $3,380 CAD
I am a lawyer defending a claim in which a plaintiff was involved in two motor vehicle accidents in 2014 and 2016 and recovered from both by 2017. In 2019 he developed ankylosing spondylitis (AS), and it is suggested that the disorder was caused or contributed to by the 2016 accident. The plaintiff is HLA-B27 negative and has no familial history of AS or related disorders. The causal connection between trauma and AS is controversial, and I need an up to date review of the medical literature to challenge the position of the plaintiff that the development of AS in his case was causally related to the trauma of the 2016 motor vehcile accident. I can provide a medical legal report of a rheumatologist for the plaintiff which includes a brief and dated literature review that I would like to refute.
