Project Instructions:
1. Choose 5 Pathologies from each of the 11 body systems:
skeleton pathologies, muscular pathologies, neurological pathologies, endocrine pathologies, reproductive pathologies & conditions, cardiovascular pathologies, lymphatic & immune pathologies, respiratory pathologies, gastrointestinal pathologies, urinary pathologies, integumentary systems pathologies.

2. Write name & definition
3. List the body system it is from
4. List any signs & symptoms → 6006E, WEBMD, OTHER MEDICAL RESOURCES
5. List any contraindications or massage modifications.

Example:
Sciatica:
Inflammation/irritation of the sciatic nerve. Refers to pain originating in the lower back &e/or hip.
Neurologic pathology

Signs & Symptoms:
• Pain in one lower extremity, radiates down the back of the thigh & leg
• Some cases both legs are affected
• Sciatica may be a symptom of bulging/herniated disk

Massage Modifications:
• Modify according to cause
• Avoid twisting/torqueing movements of the spine
• If neuropathy is present = use techniques with gentle, but firm pressure using open palm
• If caused by bulging/herniated disk = postpone, doctor recommendation needed.

Contraindication: a situation that requires the therapist to modify techniques or refrain from using them to avoid possible harm.
