Every encounter must be coded using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II, scrubbed for compliance, and submitted electronically. The workload ranges from hospital discharges to outpatient clinic visits and private-practice procedures, so the role demands versatility and an up-to-date grasp of payer guidelines.
HIPAA compliance, quick turnaround, and clear communication are essential. Familiarity with common clearinghouses, EHR/EMR platforms, and denial-management tools will make collaboration smoother.
