Media Buyer / Planner
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
WANTED: Someone skilled at navigating the media planning & buying process
About the Job…
Taoti is seeking a seasoned media planner and buyer who is skilled at providing planning and buying advertising placements – specifically focused on digital media but who has some broadcast, out-of-home (OOH), and print experience.
We’re looking for someone who is an effective negotiator and critical thinker; someone who can establish trust and build rapport with clients and media professionals.
You will be our in-house person responsible for creating media mixes, placing ads, optimizing campaigns, and reporting results. Specifically, you will:
Provide strategic guidance on which outlets (both digital and traditional) clients should invest their media dollars into.
Develop media plans and mixes that properly invest media dollars on the correct platforms and at the right amounts to meet client’s advertising objectives (i.e., CTR, reach, impressions, etc.).
Collaborate with teammates on identifying target audiences, directing advertising to those personas via the right channels/outlets.
Negotiate placement and work with vendors to place the ads.
Optimize campaigns, directing budgets to the platforms and ads driving the desired results.
Provide feedback on the ads making substantive recommendations on new creative or copy to improve results.
Create ad campaign reports (e.g., weekly, monthly, end of campaign reports) with actionable insights.
This is a new role, allowing you the opportunity to shape this growing service at Taoti. We want applicants who are leaders, hungry, and entrepreneurial.
Some boxes to check…
You have a minimum of three years of experience in providing digital media planning, buying, and optimization support for local and national campaign placement
You thrive in a fast-paced setting where same day or next day requests are not out of the ordinary
You are energized by the idea of being dedicated to a single large client (for the time being) account with many projects and campaigns running concurrently
You thrive in client-facing settings and know how to convey confidence without arrogance
Your attention to detail is second to none
You have a working knowledge of media analytics software (e.g., comScore)
You can work on a team – the client team will comprise several people all with big personalities and high expectations. A successful media buyer will be able to work with a lot of different people, successfully managing those relationships
You love to learn and are hungry for more – you are open to taking the time to educate yourself constantly on the latest trends and platforms
You are an expert negotiator – being able to negotiate a great price for the client while, at the same time, making sure that the client gets everything that he/she needs while outpacing their competition is a delicate balancing act but a necessary one
Logistics
This is a part-time/contractor-based role based out of our Washington, DC office. You can be 'mostly remote' most of the time (as is our default in a post-pandemic world), but sometimes the client (or team member) just needs some face time, so we'd prefer you be in the DC area so that coming into the office isn't a big deal if needed.
Next Steps: If you’re qualified and interested, please apply on our website (https://www.taoti.com/careers.) Please note that these job ads often get placed onto other websites with their own application systems and some sites have made up random salary ranges. We aren't able to respond to applications that don’t come through our own website (Because we use software to manage our hiring process, and without it, it would be the wild west here. So please be sure you’re applying on our website.)
