Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Hardware Fabrication, Manufacturing, and Mechatronics Engineer to support a custom mechanical–electronic integration project. The objective is to mount and integrate a potentiometer (connected to a USB-based Joystick interface board) onto a bicycle handlebar so that the potentiometer rotates accurately in sync with the handlebar. The rotational movement should generate a proportional and stable output signal. The Joystick interface board is an USB plug-and-play device, requiring no additional drivers and can talk directly with our software.
Project Requirements:
1) Design and fabricate a custom mounting system or mechanical linkage to securely attach the potentiometer and Joystick interface board to a bicycle handlebar.
2) Ensure smooth, precise, and slip-free rotation of the potentiometer corresponding to the handlebar movement.
3) Integrate the potentiometer with the Joystick interface board, ensuring proper electrical wiring, connectivity, and signal integrity.
4) Deliver a compact, robust, and repeatable prototype-ready solution suitable for real-world testing.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1) Strong hands-on experience in hardware prototyping, mechanical design, and custom fabrication.
2) Proficiency working with sensors (especially potentiometers) and integrating them into mechanical systems.
3) Basic electronics skills for connecting and interfacing sensors with controller/interface boards.
4) Must be based in Chennai, India — an onsite visit is required for assembly, integration, and demonstration at the client location.
Deliverables:
1) Complete mechanical mounting solution for the handlebar–potentiometer integration.
2) Wiring and electrical connections to the Joystick interface board.
Client-Side Testing:
Functional testing—Integrating the joystick board with PC app and verifying that the potentiometer rotates smoothly and proportionally with the handlebar—will be performed by the client.
