I have a question I need an answer to these 2 questions. I have two wind turbine motors. A- 5 mega watt B- 1 mega watt.
Each has a wheel instead of blades on it with a 2 meter diameter.
It revolves at 20 revs per min to achive full power.
We have a rope when wrapped around the wheel that is able to turn the turbine wheel
The wind turbine wheel is situated at the edge of an infinitely high cliff
The rope is infinitely long
The rope is infinitely strong
question 1-What weight would need to be put on the rope to make the turbines spin at full power

question 2 -If the rope was only 1 km long and we needed a system of gears to make the turbine spin for 100 hours
How heavy would the weights have to be (the rope is still infinitely strong)
assuming we have 50% efficency on mechanical power to elec power
