On pressing start the following is to occur:
Cutting unit lubricating oil pump is to start
Lubricating oil pump cooling fan is to start
Hydraulic pump unit is to start
On reaching 3500 PSIG in the hydraulic system, and having the lubricating oil circulating for no less than 3 minutes, processing of the logs is to begin automatically as described above.
If the feed hopper runs out of logs, the operator is to be informed with a system alarm describing the issue (feed empty or feed jammed)
Alarm indications are to be provided for the following:
Hydraulic pressure loss (supply pressure under 2000 PSIG)
Hydraulic fluid loss (supply tank level low)
Cutting motor overheating (measure via lubricating oil temperature - limit of 190°C)
Conveyor motor failure (via thermal overload)
Emergency stops for the following conditions:
Cutting motor thermal overload trip
Conveyor motor thermal overload trip
Debarking unit thermal overload
Operator emergency stop
On issuing a system stop
The hydraulic system is to bleed all pressure instantaneously back to the supply tank
The lubricating oil pump is to remain running 5 minutes past it's oil temperature dropping below 70°C
