I have taken an electric-vehicle concept through its preliminary design stages and now want to validate the motor and drivetrain. My main focus is comprehensive performance testing—electrical, mechanical, and software/control—to verify that the hardware and embedded logic meet the predicted specs before we proceed to pilot production.

Scope
You will plan and execute a coordinated test campaign on the assembled power-unit (inverter, motor, reduction gear, and associated control firmware). Real-time data acquisition, repeatable procedures, and clear reporting are crucial.

• Software / control-system testing

Typical tools you might draw on include dynamometers, oscilloscopes, CAN-bus sniffers, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, and high-speed data loggers; feel free to propose alternatives if they achieve the same insight.

Deliverables
• A concise but complete test plan outlining objectives, equipment, instrumentation, and pass/fail criteria
• Raw data files plus processed datasets with clear labeling
• A final report summarizing methodology, results, anomalies, and actionable recommendations for design tweaks or firmware calibration

Acceptance criteria
The report must correlate electrical, mechanical, and control data in a way that pinpoints efficiency losses, thermal limits, and control-loop stability, and it should highlight any deviations beyond ±5 % of the design targets.
