Wall-Mounted Bike Rack for Garage
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
This is a small test project. I want to work with MECHANICAL ENGINEERS who think and solve problems as they go. I have not provided all dims, and I have not resolved the details of the design. You might think of a simpler or better way of doing it. That's on purpose.
- Capacity: The rack should be able to hold to to 5 bikes (125kg total)
- They will slide side to side on a rail, made of Unistrut
- You will design wall brackets. It's fine to design them out of unistrut. This doesn't need to look fancy.
- I will provide the CAD for the orange hoop that the wheel sits in as we have this already.
You will need to develop a trolley that rolls inside the Unistrut on wheels. This will support the weight of one bike.
The trolley will be attached to a bracket that accepts the front wheel of the bike (the orange hoop on the doc). The bracket will over-balance, using springs to lock orange the hoop in the lower and upper positions.
I will need files for production.
