SolidWorks Assembly & GD&T Drawings
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I will send you a PDF sketch of a small mechanical assembly. Your task is to rebuild the entire assembly in SolidWorks, creating any missing components so that the model is complete and fully constrained. You will need to:
• Review my sketch and identify any design issues.
• Convert the concept into a proper engineering layout.
• Recommend improvements for, manufacturability, and folding.
• Create realistic 3D renderings that closely resemble a SolidWorks model.
• Produce orthographic views (front, side, top).
• Exploded assembly views.
• Part drawings.
• Assembly details.
• Suggest hinge and locking mechanism details.
The details are:
Overall length of the beam: 4270 mm
Main beam: 100 × 50 mm aluminium RHS
Wall thickness: 1.6 mm
Folds into three sections
Two wheels only
Wheel height: 120 mm from the ground to the underside of the RHS
Telescopic handle mounted near the front wheel
Quick-release clips rather than bolts for locking the folding joints
Hinge geometry to minimise play.
Locking clip placement.
Structural stiffness and likely deflection is not required (no loads over).
Once I upload the PDF, I can work with you.
Once the 3-D model is finished, I need manufacturing-ready drawings for every part and for the overall assembly. Please dimension everything to full detail, applying appropriate GD&T call-outs so the drawings can go straight to the machine shop without further edits.
Deliverables – all in the latest SolidWorks native formats plus PDF:
• Complete, cleanly structured assembly (.sldasm) with mates verified
• Newly created or updated part files (.sldprt) for any components that were not supplied
• Fully detailed drawings for each part and the assembly showing dimensions, tolerances and GD&T
I will consider the job complete when the model opens without errors, follows SolidWorks best practices (proper origins, feature tree organised, no rebuild warnings) and every drawing prints at 1:1 scale with legible, correct call-outs.
