Solar Energy Design Project

For the solar concentrated tower power generation plant, it is
proposed to increase the reliability of power plant by incorporating
thermal energy storage unit to store solar energy during daytime and use
it to produce power during peak hours night time. Supplementary fuel
firing is also an option in addition to thermal energy storage system.
Develop the layout of the proposed power plant configurations with
thermal energy storage option. Investigate the role of heat transfer fluid
from concentrated tower on the energy transferred to thermal energy
storage system. Develop the analysis and design details related to
proposed configuration. Investigate the role of operating conditions,
supplementary fuel firing, heat transfer working fluids and the location
influence on the design and performance of the power plant unit with
thermal energy storage. Also work on the economical details associated
with the incorporation of thermal storage unit into the power plant
scheme. Discuss the environmental benefits associated with the
proposed plant configuration with thermal energy storage.
