Smart Retractable Leash CAD Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m taking a smart, retractable dog leash from concept to manufacturable product and need a seasoned mechanical CAD specialist to own the design phase. The core requirement is a rock-solid, long-life retraction mechanism built around composite components so the leash stays light in the hand yet stands up to daily yanks and weather.
Beyond that primary function, the finished model must also support:
• Adjustable length control with a positive-locking thumb switch
• An ergonomic, ambidextrous handle that distributes pull evenly
• A flush-fitting waste-bag holder sized for standard rolls
* Powerbank
You’ll start from my sketches and usage notes, translate them into a fully detailed 3D assembly, run basic motion/strength checks, and hand back:
– Native CAD files plus STEP/IGES for sharing
– Exploded views and dimensioned drawings ready for injection-moulded housings and composite spool parts
– A concise BOM identifying off-the-shelf fasteners and suggested composite grades
I work comfortably with SolidWorks or Fusion 360 files, but if you prefer another mainstream package just let me know. Mechanical tolerances, ease of assembly, and maintenance-free operation are more important to me than flashy aesthetics at this stage, so please keep an engineer’s eye on every detail.
When we wrap, I should be able to forward your package straight to a prototyping shop without extra cleanup. If you have questions about load targets, spring specs, or any other point that affects durability, flag them early and we’ll pin them down together.
