Robotic Clamshell Enclosure
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
The successful candidate must be confident AND VERIFY they have read all 10 items below..
1. Communicate in ENGLISH.
2. Be as close to the USA east coast time zone as possible (my best times to work are noon-4pm, and midnight to 4am).
3. Have 3D design and printing ability to provide physical proof prototypes.
4. Have multiple years of mechanical / robotic / circuitry / sensors / plastic / electrical / USB-C cable configuring experience.
5. The clamshell will be in two parts, sliding left & right on rails attached to a main cage, like the interior of a PC computer, where the clamshell fits over the outside as a moving cover.
The concept at the start is BASIC and NEEDS an ANALYSIS FROM YOUR ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE to make sure the motors can move the weight, and have a remote D-pad (like a game-pad) or joystick USB-C cable wired to control it, as well as be sturdy under high wind to prevent vibration. It will also be subjected to summer heat and winter ice, or rain.
6. After the clamshell opens, the post will start from a prone position, and rise to vertical on a 90 degree pivot using motors and sensors to synchronize one motion after the other.
7. After the post rises up, it will have a joystick control to swivel the top of the post left & right 90 degrees maximum in either direction, and stop when hitting sensors AT THE LIMITS OF ROTATION.
8. Your ENGLISH is important because you must also be ready to point out ideas that can IMPROVE on the overall design, which is currently just an idea, nothing like this has been made to my knowledge.
9. There also needs to be some waterproofing around electrical / motor parts and there may also need to be some base magnets inserted into the base toi hold the unit in place on a metal surface.
10. When we talk about your bid, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE EXAMPLES OF YOUR PREVIOUS WORK. A portfolio would be nice.
