Precision Microscope XY Stage Design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm looking for an expert in Mechanical Design to craft an XY stage for a light microscope. Precision and stability is paramount, with the stage needing:
- Capability to travel 150 mm on y and 250 mm on x axis. or slightly less
- Height is 25 mm max.
- Center of the stage must be empty to pass microscope light.
- High precision, accuracy, and repeatability
- 3mm thick stainless steal is used for main body. and 1mm for coverage
- Using mechanical endstops.
- Design must handle mechanism and good shape with cable management method
Focus on minimizing noise during operation, and consider the size and weight; the loading the stage will carry is negligible. The stage might incorporate an mgn12c or a lower size equivalent and a lead screw. Utilize a stepper motor with an encoder for drive. Given the challenging nature of the project, a history in mechanical engineering with a specific focus on detailed, high-precision work is essential.
The required accuracy is difficult to achieve - at nanometer scale. That said, I am open to the best mechanics options that are currently available in Egypt. If it's impossible to achieve nm-scale accuracy with our resources, let's aim for micron-scale. I'm excited to see the proposals.
