Modelling and optimisation of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Reluctance Motor for Electrical Vehicle

Job ID: 34876718

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Nowdays, the world is converging towards the electric automobile. The propulsion
of electric vehicles is made by one or more electric motors via an electronic converter.
Indeed, the permanent magnet electric motor has great potential in electric traction
applications. On the other hand, these magnets are based on rare earths. The
latter have recently become very expensive materials and their extraction generates
polluting effects. Suddenly, the convergence to look for other structures of electric
motors without or with a reduced percentage of magnets. This project comes to
answer this problem by proposing a very powerful machine capable of effectively
propelling the electric car ; This is the synchro-reluctant motor assisted by permanent
magnets. The type property of the motors is that its electromagnetic torque is
produced mainly by the salience of its rotor and the permanent magnets are put
in the flux barriers in order to improve the power factor of the machine.Finding a
compromise between the saliency of the rotor and the location of the magnets gives
a high-performance machine that meets our specifications.
