Modelica Engine Simulation Upgrade – Methanol/Diesel Dual-Fuel Marine Engine (MWORKS / Modelica)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Project Title:
Modelica Engine Simulation Upgrade – Methanol/Diesel Dual-Fuel Marine Engine (MWORKS / Modelica)
Project Description:
We need an experienced Modelica / MWorks engineer to upgrade and correct an existing marine methanol/diesel dual-fuel medium-speed engine model. The work is not from scratch – you will modify and improve our existing Methanol_Engine model to meet the interface requirements of a Chinese simulation standard. The model must support pure diesel mode and methanol/diesel dual-fuel mode, and must output a complete set of engine operating parameters during simulation.
Platform:
- MWORKS (Modelica environment)
- Existing Methanol_Engine model will be provided.
Main Tasks:
1. Fix current model issues:
- Total heat transfer = 0
- Engine power = 0
- Engine speed = 0 for a long time
- Abnormal cylinder state variables
2. Implement required output signals:
EngineSpeed, EnginePower, FuelConsumption, AltFuelConsumption, ExhaustPressure, ExhaustTemperature, ChargeAirPressure, ChargeAirTemperature, AirFlow, FuelFlow, AltFuelFlow.
3. Closed-loop speed & torque control:
- Speed-command closed-loop control
- Torque-mode control
- Stable startup and steady operation
4. Operating scenarios (ScenType 1–9):
Required: diesel/methanol load tests, overspeed tests, low-load tests, sailing simulation.
5. Accuracy tuning:
- Speed/Power/SFC error ≤10%
- NOx/CO₂ ≤20%
- At least 5 calibrated points
Deliverables:
- Updated working MWORKS model
- All outputs correct
- Closed-loop control implemented
- Scenario library
- Calibration results
- Documentation
Deadline:
Before Nov 19, 24:00 (Beijing time)
Required Skills:
- Modelica
- Engine thermodynamics
- Combustion modelling
- Heat transfer
- Control theory
- Numerical debugging
Bid Requirements:
1. Experience summary
2. Time estimate
3. Price
4. Availability
