Microwave heterogenous catalytic reactor project

Job ID: 32629356

Budget: $30 – $250 CAD

Hi. I am looking for someone with strong grip on Chemical Engineering thermodynamics and simulation softwares such as hysys,matlab and aspen to work with me on a project that is more likely related to thermodynamics of reacting systems. I need some to work on Microwave heterogeneous catalytic reactor, a technology that is somehow re-appearing on my radar in the last year.

The objectives would be for you to:

1- Review microwave-catalytic reactor literature (will provide research paper for a recent review by Muley);
2- Review non-equilibirum thermodynamics --- as an extension of what was covered in the course;
3-Develop the model from first principle for heat and mass transport--- an excellent guide is the paper by Bergese that will be provided.
4-Add the reaction kinetics in a general form to the model.

the overall project is how to exploit the thermodynamics to develop experiments. A key issue in the field is the evaluation of the temperature at the surface of the catalyst, a question where non-equilibrium thermodynamics can be useful, see attached paper by Cruz et al.

You can go through them in detail and you can ask if there is any thing confusing or you need more explanation on how to work and what to work, you can ask before comitting it.
If you are 100% sure that you can do it easily then please let me know. It will require simulation softwares to be used such as hysys, aspen and matlab so be sure you have strong grip over them.
