Mechanical Engineer for Spring Design

Job ID: 40327240

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

I’m launching a dedicated spring-manufacturing shop here in Australia and need an engineer who can step straight into real-world custom work. Every order that comes through our door is different, so you must be comfortable designing compression, torsion and extension springs from scratch and optimising them for load, deflection and tight space envelopes.

For each job I will send you the customer specs and target performance. You will return:

• Spring calculations that verify rate, stresses and life
• A justified material selection matched to service environment
• Fully detailed 2D manufacturing drawings—complete with dimensions, tolerances and clear annotations a machinist can follow without further clarification
• Clean, native 3D models plus STEP files ready for CAM or simulation

STEP compatibility is the key; whatever CAD system you prefer is fine so long as the files import cleanly. Turnaround varies from quick single-part requests to larger production runs, so flexibility and responsive communication are essential. If you have prior experience with Australian or ISO spring standards, let me know—that will be a bonus.

This is intended as an on-going collaboration, beginning with a paid trial job. If your calculations are sound, drawings are shop-ready and STEP files open without errors, we’ll keep the projects coming.
