Mechanical design to enhance the opening and closing of an existing garden canopy shade. Currently it opens by pulling forward a rope fitted at the central front of the shade and closes by a backward pulling. The desired design should use pulleys and cables system fitted in the existing structure and enable opening and closing from one place by pulling controlling ropes upward or downward like curtain. The subject fabric shade is 4.2 meters in width and 7 meters in length, with a height of 3.5 meters, and is carried by two large beams with tracks for the shade movements.
Scope:
Design a system that uses pulleys and cables to evenly distribute force and movement across the shade and allow smooth opening and closing from one place.
