Long-Term Remote MEP Drafting Assistant
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
MEP Drafting Assistant – Remote (As-Built & Design Projects)
I'm a mechanical and electrical engineer running a small MEP design firm in Istanbul, Turkey. I'm looking for a reliable remote drafting assistant — preferably from India, Philippines, or similar — to support ongoing CAD work on MEP projects.
What you'll be doing:
As-Built Electrical (primary workload):
Install Insta360 Studio software and work from 360° photos/videos to create rough architectural floor plans (for MEP underlay only — no window/door details needed, schematic-level outlines are sufficient)
Place lighting fixtures, power outlets, A/C fan coil units, and similar equipment based on what's visible in the 360° media
Reconstruct distribution board circuits based on breaker count and panel photos (logical grouping only — exact circuit-to-outlet mapping is not required)
Write cable cross-sections according to current/power values (I'll provide a template drawing to follow)
Mechanical (as-built & design):
Draw duct routes and fan positions based on layouts I provide (duct sizes and airflow rates will be given — no field measurements needed, just route them sensibly)
Design Projects (occasional):
Place radiators according to room-by-room heat loss calculations I'll provide
Produce floor plans and one-line/schematic diagrams for heating systems
Draw piping using the correct line types and layers I specify
Tools & workflow:
CAD platform: GStarCAD (preferred) or AutoCAD — I'll provide templates, layer standards, and line type libraries
Files exchanged via cloud (Google Drive / WeTransfer)
Communication in English (Turkish is a big plus but not required)
Projects are in Turkish: I'll supply a Turkish–English terminology table for all labels, room names, and annotations — most terms are universal anyway (Watt, Ampere, Volt, etc.)
What I'm looking for:
MEP drafting experience (electrical + mechanical)
Comfortable working from photos/videos rather than measured surveys
Detail-oriented, able to follow drawing standards and templates
Good communication, consistent availability for ongoing work
Familiarity with as-built documentation workflows
This is a long-term freelance collaboration. Volume will vary — some weeks light, some heavier. I pay per drawing/set, rate negotiable based on experience.
If you have MEP CAD experience and are looking for steady remote work, please send your portfolio or sample drawings.
