LPBF Melt Pool Dynamics Simulation
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
I'm looking to simulate the single track of a Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) process for a Ti-Ta alloy using COMSOL Multiphysics. The objective of this project involves an in-depth analysis of the dynamics of the melt pool, focusing on:
- Thermal profiles
- Fluid flow patterns
- Solidification rates
In addition, I need a detailed analysis of the elemental composition of the final sample. Specifically, I want to understand the spatial distribution of each element, as well as the precise weight percentage of titanium (Ti) and tantalum (Ta) throughout the sample.
Ideal candidates for this project will have extensive experience with COMSOL Multiphysics and a strong background in materials science or engineering, particularly with Ti-Ta alloys and LPBF processes. Previous work involving the simulation of melt pool dynamics and elemental composition analysis will be highly regarded.
