Ground-Mount Solar Structure Design
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a full structural design for a ground-mounted array that will hold 16 solar panels and safely withstand local wind speeds of 160 km/h. The site is perfectly flat, so the design can assume a level foundation without the extra complexity of terracing or stepped footings. I would like the primary framing and supports detailed in steel—please base all section sizes, fasteners, and corrosion-protection notes on that choice.
What I expect from you
• Complete set of dimensioned drawings (plan, elevation, and relevant sections) in PDF and the original CAD format.
• Structural calculations that verify deflection, uplift, and overall stability at the stated wind load.
• A concise material list with steel grades, coating specs, and hardware.
• Simple installation notes so a local crew can translate the design into the field.
Use any recognised engineering software you feel comfortable with—STAAD, SAP2000, or similar—for the calculations, but include the raw files in the hand-over so the figures can be audited. I will review the model and calcs before signing off. Please outline your proposed workflow and the standards or codes you will follow when you place your bid.
