Fire Protect system design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Hello, how are you? I have existing entertainment type building that has an indoor karting track and it has an existing hydraulic system that is very basic. They have added a large, roughly 6,200 sqft, elevated steel structure that will serve as a bridge for part of the go kart track. I would need the existing sprinkler system’s engineering and hydraulic calculations and then a new system engineered as an extension of the existing based off of those calculations.
My hope is the existing system will allow us to tie into it and supply new lines for coverage of the bottom side of the new structure. I’d like to get the extension engineered and designed for extended coverage heads to minimize supply branches as all work pulling and welding of outlets will be done in field.
I have mark ups of the existing system with all dimensions pulled in the field. Unfortunately there is absolutely no information available from the city of the existing sprinkler system but I have gathered all the information of the existing system that i possibly could and created a PDF showing entire system, dimensions, sizes and typical head location. I also have a 3D & 2D CAD file of new structure, multiple different sets of plans for the new structure, pictures taken from the field and marked up, a recent inspection report of the system, relevant details from the AHJ, and the means and will to get whatever you might need.
What I don’t have is the particular skill set for what is required. I do fully understand the process and time and energy it takes. I’m a union plumbing and have been doing commercial plumbing for years with big outfits. I was at a hospital for 3.5 years dealing with OSHPD and all that comes with that level of detail. That being said, please let me know if this is something you are interested in and in your normal scope. Im more than willing to pay a professional properly and hope to discuss additional costs or a flat rate for a quick turn around or something that gets me into the submittal process with the AHJ. -System would preferably be designed from with 3D CAD to assure piping elevations keep the same BOP from the structure as it changes elevations.
A 3D drawing would be nice but not a big deal at all.
-Other option would be a 2D CAD drawing of new system showing the elevation changes are accounted for. I do have to send the system to the structural engineering for review of load and seismic.
-Plan view drawing for installation
-A submittal sheet listing all specs for the full scope of the entire system
-Plan view of proposed full system for permit submittal
-Main runs of new system will be grooved schedule 10 steel with welded tapped outlets
-Plan view of existing system to show its current configuration and the hydraulic calculations to confirm the capability to supply new system. The existing system does not need to be highly detailed, just need to show it can handle the extension and drawn in a plan form
-Engineering and design of new system for coverage of new structure. New system to meet all NFPA requirements
-Plan view of proposed full system for permit submittal
n compliance to NFPA 13 standards and confirmed with chapter 29 that address the modification of existing systems.
