P.Eng Ventilation Specialist for Kitchens
Budget: $750 – $1,500 CAD
We are seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng) registered in British Columbia to provide a very limited-scope professional review and sealed letter for a single piece of certified commercial kitchen equipment.
This is NOT a full mechanical design project.
Equipment:
• EVO Ventless Commercial Griddle
• UL 710B listed (Recirculating Ventilation Systems)
• NSF 4 certified
• Integrated fire suppression system
• Electrically powered
• Full manufacturer specifications and certifications will be provided
Requested Scope (strictly limited):
• Desk review of manufacturer documentation only
• Confirm compliance with the BC Building Code (BCBC) and applicable standards
• Provide a sealed professional letter confirming acceptability for installation
• If required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction, provide a Schedule B – Letter of Assurance
• No exterior exhaust
• No make-up air unit
• No redesign of existing HVAC systems
• No full mechanical drawings
• Site visit only if absolutely required (preference is desk review)
This request is driven by a municipal plans examiner who requires confirmation from a BC-licensed Mechanical Engineer for approval of a ventless appliance they have not previously reviewed.
Requirements:
• Must be a P.Eng licensed in British Columbia
• Must be authorized to seal documents in BC
• Experience with commercial kitchens or ventless cooking equipment preferred
