Dynamic Thermal Modelling for a residential new build
Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP
A dynamic thermal modelling service is required to comply with the UK Building Regulations Part O requirements for a proposed residential dwelling. The service provider shall perform dynamic thermal modelling calculations and simulations to assess the energy performance of the building in accordance with the UK Building Regulations Part O, which includes the conservation of fuel and power.
The scope of work for the dynamic thermal modelling service includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Thermal Modelling:
Conduct dynamic thermal modelling calculations using appropriate software (such as IES VE, DesignBuilder, EnergyPlus, or equivalent) to assess the building's energy performance. The thermal modelling shall consider various factors such as building fabric, ventilation, heating, cooling, lighting, and controls.
Compliance Assessment:
Evaluate the building's energy performance against the UK Building Regulations Part O requirements, including the CO2 emissions, fabric energy efficiency (FEE), and building services energy efficiency (BREE).
Simulation and Analysis:
Perform simulations and analysis to optimize the building's energy performance by evaluating different design options, such as building orientation, insulation levels, glazing types, and HVAC system efficiency.
Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing the findings of the dynamic thermal modelling calculations, compliance assessment, simulations, and analysis. The reports shall include recommendations for improving the building's energy performance and complying with the UK Building Regulations Part O requirements.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with the project team, including architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, to provide guidance and recommendations throughout the design process to achieve compliance with UK Building Regulations Part O requirements.
Deliverables:
The following deliverables are expected from the dynamic thermal modelling service provider:
1. Detailed dynamic thermal modelling calculations and simulations using appropriate software, including input and output data files.
2. Compliance assessment report summarizing the building's energy performance against the UK Building Regulations Part O requirements.
