Detailed Steam Locomotive 3D Model -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I have a full set of 2-D drawings for a classic steam locomotive and now need them translated into a precise, production-ready 3-D model in AutoCAD. The file will be used directly for manufacturing individual components, so accuracy and part separation are critical.
Scope
• Create a complete high-detail 3-D assembly of the locomotive, including chassis, boiler, wheels, drive rods, cab, and all visible fittings.
• Model each component as its own part file, organised in logical sub-assemblies so machinists can pull dimensions quickly.
• Maintain correct tolerances and clearances based on the supplied drawings; ask whenever a dimension is missing or ambiguous.
• Where drawings lack internal features, reference typical steam-era construction standards to keep the design authentic.
Deliverables
1. Native AutoCAD 3-D files for every individual part and the master assembly.
2. Step/IGES export of the full assembly.
3. A brief part list (spreadsheet) that cross-references drawing numbers to file names.
Acceptance
The model should open error-free in AutoCAD 2024, measure within ±0.1 mm of the provided dimensions, and allow a full exploded view without interference.
