Desktop SMD Pick-and-Place Build
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I’m setting up a small lab and need a compact desktop pick-and-place machine that can reliably handle micro SMD parts for prototyping runs and short production batches. My priority is consistent, moderate precision—accurate enough for 0603 passives, fine-pitch QFNs, and similar packages—without pushing full industrial tolerances.
The job covers the full build, from mechanical design right through to a working, calibrated unit (or, if shipping is impractical, a complete kit of files and instructions I can assemble on my end). I’m open to leveraging OpenPnP, Smoothie, Marlin, or other proven control stacks, as long as the final workflow is stable on Windows or Linux.
Key expectations
• Place micro SMD components repeatably within ~50 µm
• Bed size and footprint suitable for a desktop (roughly 500 × 500 mm or smaller)
• Vision-assisted alignment and fiducial recognition
• Feeders that support standard cut tape; vibration or simple strip feeders are fine
• Easy-to-service frame, readily available hardware, and off-the-shelf spares
Deliverables
• Complete CAD files (STEP/IGES) and fabrication drawings
• Electronics schematics, PCB files, and firmware source
• Compiled control software with configuration files
• Full BOM with distributor links
• Assembly, calibration, and operating manual
• Short video or live session demonstrating accurate placement of a mixed micro-SMD board
