Designing of toothless planetary gears for centrifugal compressors at Svenska Rotor Maskiner
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Svenska Rotor Maskiner is a leader in the development of compressors and pumps for various industries such as biogas, refrigeration, fuel cell etc. We are now investigating to use the toothless planetary gear technology for centrifugal compressors.
1. Establish suitable methods for dimensioning of planetary gears for centrifugal compressor application. • This can be done with a combination of Matlab calculations and/or other commercial software.
The aim should be to keep it at a general level, not focusing on one specific set of gears/compressor parameters.
• Produce documentation of the calculation/dimensioning process.
• A literature study on the subject is to be included.
2. Dimensioning and calculation of a specific gear for a centrifugal compressor.
• Documentation of calculations in accordance with point 1 above.
• 3D-modelling in suitable CAD software. Creo or Catia or other will work.
• Manufacturing drawings for a prototype.
