DFM Engineer for Patented Hybrid Kitchenware (304 Stainless & Injection Molding)

Job ID: 40156130

Budget: $2,500 – $3,500 USD

I am a Michigan-based LLC seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide Design for a Manufacturing (DFM) and production-ready CAD drawings for a patented-pending baking product. The product is a hybrid assembly involving a deep draw stainless steel body and an injection-molded component.

Scope of Work:
1. Material Analysis: Validate the use of 304 Grade Stainless Steel (304DDQ) for a deep-draw process, including calculating necessary corner radii and draw ratios.
2. CAD Development: Create high-fidelity 3D models (STEP/IGEA) and 2D technical drawings with GD&T.
3. Molding Design: Optimize the plastic/silicone component for clean ejection, specifying draft angles and gate locations.
4. Assembly Engineering: Design mechanical interlocks between the metal and plastic parts, accounting for differential thermal expansion in high-heat (baking) environments.
5. BOM & Compliance: Assist in creating a Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensuring all specified materials are FDA food-contact compliant.

Requirements:
1. Proven experience in DFM for consumer goods (specifically kitchenware).
2. Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar professional CAD Software.
3. Experience with metal stamping and injection molding assembly.

*Note: This project involves a patent-pending technology. A signed custom NDA (provided by the client) is required before any technical sketches or proprietary dimensions are shared.
