Custom Y-Drop Liquid Fertilizer System Design
Budget: $10 – $50 USD
I am looking for a freelancer who can help me with research, practical engineering advice, and design for a custom Y-Drop style liquid fertilizer system as a modification of my old farm sprayer.
This is not only a CAD job I need someone who can first research and understand the Y-Drop concept in detail, especially how it is used in corn for row-based liquid fertilizer placement, and then help adapt this concept to my machine.
I want someone who can:
- research Y-Drop systems and similar solutions in detail
- understand how fertilizer is delivered close to the base of corn plants
- identify the main working principles behind these systems
- explain clearly what matters mechanically and practically
- adapt the concept to an older sprayer
- propose a realistic design that can be fabricated by a local metal worker
The goal is to convert my old sprayer so it can place liquid fertilizer near the base of corn plants in a Y-Drop style arrangement, instead of applying it in a traditional way from above.
I want a practical solution that works in real field conditions and can stay on the machine permanently.
Field setup
- corn row spacing: 75 cm
- this will be used in real farm conditions
- the design should be simple, durable, corrosion-resistant, and practical

I am not looking for someone who only makes a drawing from my sketch.
I need someone who can:
1. do proper research
2. explain the concept clearly
3. recommend the right approach for adapting it to my old sprayer
4. then prepare a practical design / concept
Preferred experience
Strong preference for people with experience in:
- agricultural machinery
- sprayers or fertilizer application systems
- mechanical design for outdoor/mobile equipment
- fluid delivery systems
- row crop equipment
- practical fabrication-friendly design
