CFD Fire Simulation Expert needed to improve ethanol fireplaces

Job ID: 39261459

Budget: €18 – €36 EUR

We develop ethanol fireplaces. So far by trial and error, but now we want to include an expert who can help us simulate the flame properties based on our CAD models. We need to find ways to optimise ventilation, burner design and insulating materials to get the perfect flame combined with fuel efficiency.

So the fireplace works in this way.
1. You fill ethanol in a "burner" (basically a stainless steel cup with a reduced diameter at the opening
2. You light the ethanol. The burner gets hotter, which causes the ethanol to boil and evaporate, which increases the flame
3. The burner gets an airflow through ventilation slits on the side.

So we need to answer questions like:
1. How can we change airflow to reduce maximum height of the flame?
2. How can we reduce flickering of the flame?
3, How hot do adjacent components get?
4, How long does it take until the flane reaches maximum height?

As a test, we would provide you with a CAD model of an existing product to see if your simulation matches reality. If successful, we would work closely with you to test new design ideas before creating prototypes.
