I need a product developer with the capability to design, produce a prototype and provide a parts list for a tool to facilitate the production of a new product that I have developed.
The product: A jewelry gift box containing 180 rolled scrolls. The gift box dimensions are 3 ¾” X 2 ½” X 1”. Each scroll sheet is 1” X 3”. Each scripture rolled is 1” tall.
The Challenge: The present process of filling the jewel box with the scrolls takes approximately 1 hour per box using a dermal like rotating tool to roll the scrolls and then manually insert the 180 scrolls into an insertion device. Once the device is filled with the 180 rolled scrolls, all the scrolls are inserted into the jewel box at once. 1 hours is too much time to spend on one product unit.
The Present Process - Each scroll sheet is picked up by hand, inserted into the slotted bit of the rotatory tool, the on-button switch pushed until the note is rolled. Many times, the rolled note must be adjusted to fit the hole.
The Solution: To automate box loading is to have an automation tool that makes it more precise and easier to roll the scrolls and eject each scroll into the insertion device.
For the tool to be effective, it should have the following functions:
1. Capability to mount each set of 180 scrolls on the tool for automatic insertion into the roller bit
2. Load a single scroll sheet into the roller bit, push the next scroll sheet into place for insertion into the roller bit
3. Roll the scroll sheet
4. Push the rolled scroll into the insertion device
5. Move horizontally to the next position until 18 holes in the loading mechanism are filled
6. The loader mechanism then moves down one position vertically and then horizontally to the first position in that row.
7. Automation steps 2 -6 are repeated until all 10 rows are filled
8. A single push of a button initiates the scroll insertion process until the insertion device is filled with 180 scrolls
9. When the insertion mechanism is completely loaded, the operator then removes the insertion mechanism and pushes all the scrolls into the jewel box
