Description
I am looking for an experienced CAD designer to create a manufacturing-ready 3D model and drawings for a new mechanical product.
The product is a sprinkler head trimming tool with the following key features:
Cone-shaped outer body
Hollow interior to fit over a standard sprinkler head (~2.4” clearance)
Integrated angled handle
Circular cutting ring at the base
Cutting teeth designed for bi-directional twisting motion (not downward cutting)
Teeth must be oriented correctly upward and angled for cutting roots
Clean, simple, durable mechanical design (no unnecessary complexity)
Scope of Work
You will:
Create a precise 3D CAD model
Ensure proper internal clearance (tool must not hit sprinkler head)
Design functional cutting teeth geometry
Provide:
STL file (for 3D printing)
STEP file (for manufacturing)
2D technical drawings with dimensions
Prepare the design for prototype fabrication
Important Requirements
Experience with mechanical tools or product design
Must understand clearances and real-world functionality
Must follow my exact design intent (I will provide reference images)
Must be able to revise quickly based on feedback
Deliverables
STL (3D print ready)
STEP file
Dimensioned drawings (PDF)
Optional: exploded view (bonus)
