Pollution Chamber Design & Simulation
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design + Simulation Engineer (SolidWorks + ANSYS + Fluent) to design and simulate a Pollution / Environmental Simulation Chamber.
The chamber will be used for controlled atmospheric experiments involving gases (NOx, SOx, O₃, CO, VOCs) and aerosols. The design must be fabrication-ready and the simulations must be research accurate.
Scope of Work
1. Mechanical Design (SolidWorks)
You will be required to develop a complete 3D model of a capsule-shaped stainless-steel chamber with the following components:
- Capsule-style environmental chamber made of SS 316
- Temperature & humidity sensors integrated for internal condition monitoring
- Inlets for NOx and other pollutant gases on both left and right sides
- Pressure control port and vacuum interface
- Acrylic front window/door for cleaning after each experiment
- Two quartz windows on the top for allowing external light without causing chemical reactions
- Internal mixing fan
- Stand/base frame to support the chamber structure
- Port layout, flanges, gaskets, brackets, sealing surfaces
- Fabrication-ready drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and BOM
2. Structural & Thermal Analysis (ANSYS)
Simulations required:
- Vacuum load analysis (~10⁻² mbar)
- Structural stresses on ports, windows, flanges
- Thermal performance for controlled temperature range (−5°C to +45°C)
- Material behaviour & deformation analysis
- Safety factor evaluation
3. CFD Simulation (ANSYS Fluent)
Full-flow analysis for:
- Internal airflow and uniform mixing
- Pollutant gas dispersion (NOx, SOx, CO, VOCs, O₃)
- Aerosol behaviour (optional but preferred)
- Temperature uniformity distribution
- Humidity distribution modelling
- Pathlines, turbulence profile, residence time
Deliverables Required
- SolidWorks 3D CAD model (source + STEP)
- Fully detailed fabrication drawings
- ANSYS structural & thermal analysis reports
- ANSYS Fluent CFD simulation report
- Integrated system layout showing all ports, windows, and internal elements
Skill Requirements
- Strong expertise in SolidWorks (assemblies + sheet metal + fabrication drawings)
- Expertise in ANSYS Mechanical (structural & thermal)
- Expertise in ANSYS Fluent / CFD
- Experience designing pressure/vacuum chambers (preferred)
- Knowledge of pollutant gases and chamber design (bonus)
Additional Notes
The chamber will work with a humidifier and temperature modulation system, so integration points for these must be included.
