Project Overview
We are developing a compact cylindrical chamber where fluid enters tangentially to create a strong vortex flow. The chamber currently produces rotational circulation, but we want to enhance the swirl strength and stability.

The goal of this project is to design internal helical guide ribs (swirl-inducing surfaces) along the inner wall of the chamber to improve fluid circulation and increase angular momentum in the vortex core.

We are seeking an engineer with experience in fluid mechanics and mechanical design to optimize the internal rib geometry.

System Description

Chamber type: cylindrical vortex chamber

Internal diameter: ~150 mm

Chamber height: ~200 mm

Material: PVC or similar plastic

Fluid: water

Flow type: tangential inlet jets generating vortex circulation

Scope of Work

The freelancer will:

Design internal helical ribs or guide surfaces that enhance swirl intensity.

Determine optimal parameters including:

rib angle / helix angle

rib height and thickness

number of ribs

axial spacing and rib length

Ensure ribs improve vortex formation without causing excessive turbulence or flow obstruction.

Provide design suitable for manufacturing or prototyping in plastic chambers.
