Convert Legacy 2D AutoCAD Designs into 3D

PROJECT TITLE: Mechanical Design: 2D AutoCAD to 3D Inventor Conversion (Groups & Sub-assemblies)
1. PROJECT OVERVIEW We are EMA PACK, a manufacturer of industrial food packaging machinery (Vacuum chambers, Shrink tunnels, Tray sealers). We have a large database of legacy designs in 2D AutoCAD (DWG) that need to be migrated into fully parametric 3D Models and Assemblies.
2. SCOPE OF WORK We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer to convert our 2D drawings into 3D.
Input: 2D DWG files (Orthogonal views, sections) of existing machines.
Output: Native Autodesk Inventor files (.ipt, .iam) and drawings (.idw).
3. WORK METHOD: GROUPS & SUB-GROUPS Given the high volume of drawings, we will NOT assign a complete machine at once. The project will be broken down into specific Functional Groups and Sub-assemblies:
Step 1 (Pilot): We start with a single Sub-group (e.g., Sealing Bar Group or Pneumatic Lifting Group).
Step 2 (Validation): We review the 3D assembly and bill of materials (BOM).
Step 3 (Continuation): Once the workflow is approved, we proceed with the remaining Groups until the full machine assembly is complete.
4. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Software: Autodesk Inventor (Professional).
Expertise: Sheet Metal (Lamiera) design is mandatory (mostly stainless steel bent parts).
Accuracy: You must ensure no interferences between moving parts within the sub-groups.
NDA: A Non-Disclosure Agreement is required before sharing the full dataset.
5. BUDGET & TIMELINE This initial project is for the First Pilot Group only. Please quote your rate or fixed price for a standard medium-complexity sub-assembly. Successful completion will lead to a long-term collaboration for the entire machine range.
