Conceptual Mechanical Product Design
Budget: $10 – $100 AUD
I am at the very first stage of developing a new product and need a mechanically minded designer to turn rough ideas into a clear, manufacturable concept. The work begins at conceptualization: exploring mechanisms, kinematics, materials, and form so the product’s core functions are proven before we ever think about tooling.
Here is what I need from you:
• Early-stage concept sketches or rough 3D CAD layouts that communicate the working principle.
• Iterative refinement of the chosen direction—including basic stress/fit checks—until the concept is mechanically sound and ready to move into detailed design.
• A short report or slide deck that captures the rationale, exploded views, preliminary part count, and any key specs or off-the-shelf components you recommend.
You are free to use SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or comparable software; just be ready to export STEP files and annotated PDFs so I can share them with my manufacturing partners.
I will provide reference photos, size constraints, and functional requirements once we start. If you enjoy the blank-sheet phase of product design and can back creativity with solid engineering judgment, I look forward to seeing how you would tackle this challenge.
