Bulk Realistic Miniature Painting
Budget: $10 – $11 USD
I have a sizable batch of single-piece metal horse-and-rider miniatures—each figure measures roughly 1" tall on a 1 ½" × 1" base—that need to be painted consistently for tabletop play. The brief is a medium level of detailing: solid, even base coats, crisp trims, and a touch of shading or edge highlights where they add definition, without pushing into premium showcase territory.
The finish must feel realistic. I want traditional cavalry colours: natural horse browns, greys, blacks or chestnuts; believable leather tack; metal weapons and fittings; and uniform tones that would read as historical on the table. No fantasy brights or cartoon outlines.
To make sure we are on the same page, here is what I consider a completed piece:
• Clean, even primer with no obscured detail
• Smooth colour transitions, minimal visible brush strokes
• Basic shading or highlight pass to separate armour, fabric, and horse musculature
• Finished base edges in a neutral tone, ready for my own flocking afterward
• Matte or satin varnish for protection and handling
All figures are one solid casting, so there is no assembly or pinning required—just prep, paint, and seal. We can discuss the exact quantity and shipping logistics once you review a sample photo. Consistency across the entire batch is critical, so a quick test model before full production is welcome.
