Robotic Arm PID Control Simulink Design
Budget: £10 – £20 GBP
Job Title
Simulink Project – PID Control of Robotic Arm (MECH1320 University Project)
⸻
Job Description
I am looking for an experienced engineer with strong knowledge of MATLAB Simulink and control systems to help develop a robotic arm simulation using PID control.
This is a university-level project, so the work must be clear, realistic, and well-explained.
⸻
Project Requirements
The goal is to design and simulate a robotic arm system with a working PID controller that controls the arm’s motion (e.g., joint angle or end-effector position).
The simulation should include:
System Modelling
• Mathematical model of the robotic arm (at least 1–2 DOF)
• Equations of motion (simplified is fine but must be correct)
• Input (desired position) and output (actual position)
Control System
• Implementation of PID controller
• Proper tuning of P, I, and D parameters
• Clear demonstration of system response (overshoot, settling time, etc.)
Realistic Features (IMPORTANT for marks)
• Effects such as:
• Friction
• Load/payload
• External disturbance (optional but preferred)
• Sensor feedback simulation
Simulation Output
• Graphs showing system performance
• Response comparison (before vs after PID tuning)
• Ability to adjust parameters and observe changes
⸻
Deliverables
1. Complete Simulink model file (.slx)
2. Short report (max 8 pages) including:
• System description
• Control strategy
• Explanation of results
3. Screenshots of the simulation
4. Clear explanation so I can understand and present the project myself
⸻
Important Notes
• The work must be original (no copied templates)
• Code and model must be simple enough to explain in a lab demonstration
• I may be asked questions about the system, so explanation is very important
• Deadline is flexible but should be completed within 2–3 weeks
⸻
Ideal Freelancer
• Strong experience with MATLAB / Simulink
• Background in control systems / robotics / mechatronics
• Able to explain work clearly (this is VERY important)
⸻
Budget
Open to offers depending on experience and quality.
